- Tag names may not contain spaces
- Tag names should begin with an underscore or letter (ABC123 or _ABC123 but not 123ABC)

Keep it simple: one worksheet per set of DGN files that use the same tag set definition.
That's the tricky part. FlexiTable expects your Excel worksheet to be well-ordered and have named ranges that correspond to MicroStation tag names. That way, it's easy to look up data in Excel that corresponds to a named MicroStation tag.
We wrote the freewareTag Def Renamer to help people with existing MicroStation tag sets that don't work with Excel.
