in my opinion the core topic in your case is an identification - how to uniquely identify a particular tag (from specific tagset) in DGN model and its respective value in Excel sheet.
Some notes and ideas:
- If there is only one tagset > tag in a model because of definition how a drawing is structured, it's easy.
- If tags structure is general, so the same tagset is attached to many elements, the only way how to identify a particular tag is to store element ID in Excel sheet (element ID is unique for the whole life of design file).
- Sometimes a combination of different criterias can be used to identify tag, e.g. line type (linestring) + level (level name) + tagset where one tags is an ID. In such case the other tags can attached to the same element can be identified base on such criterion, but you have ensure ID is unique.
Can be such or similar rule defined for your design files?
In Excel sheet it's usually easier, in one row you can have e.g. file name, model name (if needed), tag criterion and tag value.
