If that's what the lawyers want, then ask them what they mean by 'metadata'. It's unlikely that your original project delivered 'metadata': it's more likely to have delivered DGN files, Excel worksheets and Word documents. Are they just using an unnecessary word (they are lawyers, after all) to describe a job document list?

As Jan wrote, it depends what they mean. Lawyers don't need to watch too much TV to make things complicated. Remember, they bill for the time they spend on a project. Unfortunately, you can't bill them for the hours you spend producing irrelevant evidence.
