I guess that it's not possible to use "old MDL" functions to work with Extended Elements. There is no fixed data structure defined as exists for "standard element types". I have not worked with Type 106 yet, but I guess you should try to access this element using Element Handler. But maybe there is a condition ProStructure has to be active to access the element properties using API, because only the element author app knows what is inside.
