It's no use pleading with me: I don't work for Bentley Systems.
MicroStation's text API, prior to CONNECT, has had too many problems. It didn't work well in the world of Unicode. It didn't work well for formatting text (an increasing number of users seems to think that MicroStation should behave like a word-processor). The text API in CONNECT is a great step forward!
Users are encouraged to use text styles, rather than raw text. You too should pay attention to text styles. The text API in CONNECT helps you to follow that guideline.
